David Limbaugh still thinks Romney will prevail

David Frum, Erick Erickson, and Ezra Klein are convinced that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign is in deep trouble and must dramatically change course. Best-selling author David Limbaugh, by contrast, thinks Romney’s chances are good.

Looking at the last several years, Limbaugh believes conservative ideas still resonate with many voters:

If this were so in O's favor we wouldn't have seen 2010, Walker, Chick Fil A — and we wouldn't see polls with majority against Obamacare

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

Do u think a nation of ppl that had surrendered 2 the welfare state wouldn't overwhelmingly embrace Obamacare? Hell yes they would. We don't

Of course the media are biased against Romney, but that isn’t an insurmountable obstacle:

Reagan won with a media savaging him daily — twice; so did George W. Bush. Our conservative media & blogosphere much more powerful today

As for Mitt Romney’s statement about “the 47 percent,” Limbaugh thinks it was defeatist:

What bothers me about Nit's 47% statement is not that it's wrong; it's 49.5%; it's that it's defeatist. Many of them want 2 do better.

Some of those who pay no income taxes will in fact end up voting for Romney:

Come on you people; Obama doesn't even have the approval of all the people who aren't paying income taxes. Give me a break.

Limbaugh says grass-roots conservatives need to stop being so pessimistic:

What's more contagious and debilitating to the soul than receiving government assistance is the kind of defeatism we're seeing from some.

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

Mitt might need a shot of optimism but so do many of us; where's the grassroots spirit?

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

@JacklynMHughes I didn't say everyone is giving up; I'm saying that the ones who are down should get back up.

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

Obama has just had a week from hell on the foreign policy front and his economic stature couldn't be much lower. Not the time for pessimism.

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

@AiPolitics I mean there's too much defeatism in our ranks — starting at the top with Mitt's comment that he can't possibly reach the 47$

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

Despite all the hand-wringing, the race is very close:

This election is SO up for grabs right now it's not even funny. We have yet to have one debate — or the inevitable spin following them.

— David Limbaugh (@DavidLimbaugh) September 18, 2012

Exactly right.
