Chef Catches Newly Hatched Ducklings Jumping Off A Roof To Get To Their Mom
Not all heroes walk around in costumes with capes…some wear aprons with baseball hats.
One sous chef at a New Jersey beer garden became quite the hero after he rushed to save several ducklings stuck on a roof.
When staff at the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten discovered a nest with seven duck eggs on the eatery’s roof they sought expert advice only to be told to leave the nest alone. But when the eggs hatched, something happened that forced Chef Tim Spielman to intervene. The ducklings were stuck on the roof and it looked like they were about to jump off!
Luckily, Spielman was quick on his feet and using a baseball cap he managed to catch the little guys as they made the harrowing plunge.
Once off the roof, the ducklings followed their mom to a nearby lake where the whole family calmly swam away.
