This past semester, students in Colorado College’s comparative literature department had the option to take a course studying the film “Mean Girls.”

Professor Lisa Hughes taught the class titled Queen Bees, Wannabes and Mean Girls.

It was meant as an exploration into why certain women seek authority and the lengths they will go to preserve that authority.

A total of 13 students enrolled in the course, which also dissected films like “Bridesmaids” and “Queen Bee.”

As you might have guessed, the class was comprised primarily of female students, but there were three male students in the group.

The students in the class did wear pink on a Wednesday and found similarities between “Mean Girls” and Greek myths such as The Judgment of Paris.

The class coincided with the 10-year anniversary of Tina Fey’s opus and seems like it was a fun and educational experience for those involved.

Actually, it seems pretty fetch.
